"We are committed to provide a holistic education based on new generation academics that creates powerful global career options to our students and at the same time make them key contributors to the society at large. We strive to achieve nation building by emphasizing on character building of individual. This is done through approach of mentoring."
- Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai, Chairman and CEO, MES
I believe that globalization as a process is taking place independently of us. We have no option but to recognize it, understand it, and avail of its opportunities. In a globalized world, there is no room for an economy delinked from world trade and progress. If we do not gain the necessary skills to compete, and if we do not make these skills explicit to the world, we will be left behind.
The world is looking at us so seriously today because we have one of the largest youth populations in the world. By educating them, giving them self-worth and the confidence to know what they can achieve and deliver. I believe a youth – empowered India is an India capable of affecting the world; it can define intellect and courage as its most powerful human assets, and can claim the 21st century as its own. I firmly believe that we can create a nation where every child enjoys every opportunity to grow into a self-reliant, self-respecting individual, capable of bringing his / her knowledge to serve his / her God, his / her family, and his / her country. Only when we achieve this through our collective will and our persistent effort-will we be able to throw off the stigma of being developing nation. We will be known not just as a knowledge economy, with skills in Information Technology (IT) and engineering, but as an industrial economy driving the forces of production worldwide, and as a rural economy that nourishes the land in which it thrives. We in phcet impart the sense of responsibility on the emerging generation of young leaders to realize this dream of an India empowered.
Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai
has documented his travails in the progress of Mahatma Education Society through a book titled EduNation : The Dream of an India Empowered.
This is an unprecedented piece of work. It not only exposes the glaring inadequacies of the Indian educational system over a period of 60 years of Independence, but through a deep personal study of how things work in advanced countries, and through the examples of a spirited entrepreneurship of the author's own life provides chapter after chapter of meaningful hope. The book is an invaluable resource for all those interested in tapping into India's vast human capital. Government looking at reforms, entrepreneurs looking for real-time management truths, institution-builders wanting to get their foundations right, educators intent on getting, parents, teachers, students and philanthropists. It speaks to all in a language that is lucid, and with a pace, that is representative of the author's own scale of growth.
The book released in March 2010 is now the topic of discussions in academic and literary circles, and has drawn considerable attention to the path breaking and untiring efforts of Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai and Dr. Daphne Pillai in the field of education.
